August is fast approaching here at the beach and summer is in full swing. From summer classics like Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball games to special events like the Brews, Blues, & BBQ event at the House of Blues, August has tons in store for our guests.

Hot Summer Nights | Myrtle Beach Boardwalk | Ongoing Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Skywheel

 

If you are visiting during the month of August, be sure to head to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to check out their free “Hot Summer Nights” promotion that offers family friendly entertainment every night of the week! The weekly schedule includes:

·      Monday – Kids’ Carnival (Plyler Park)

·      Wednesday – Live Entertainment (9th Avenue & Plyler Park) & Fireworks

Movies Under The Stars | Market Common | Ongoing (Fridays)

 

Relax and unwind after a busy day at the beach by watching a movie in the great outdoors. The Movie Under The Stars event takes place each week throughout the summer at Valor Park near Market Common. The August movie schedule is as follows:

·      August 7th – UP

·      August 14th – Finding Nemo

·      August 21st – The American Tail

·      August 28th – Beetle Juice

 

The movies begin at dusk (usually around 8:30 pm in the summer) and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for comfort. Outside food and drink is not allowed, though there will be plenty of food vendors present in case you need a snack.

Hot temperatures means many things in Myrtle Beach. For sports fanatics it means the peak of baseball season and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans is a great way to enjoy time with the family. Tickets are reasonably priced and the ballpark sponsors several events throughout the week during home games. Weekly promotions include:

The family fun night takes place once a month and features a live DJ, family friendly games and activities, special character appearances, and more! Family Dive-In Movies | Myrtle Waves Waterpark | Wednesday, August 12th Dive in Movies Myrtle Beach

Brews, Blues, & BBQ | Myrtle Beach House of Blues | Saturday, August 15th

 

This popular Myrtle Beach House of Blues event takes place mid-August this year and always draws a crowd. Stop in for great food, great brews, and great tunes. This event will feature original craft offerings from more than 30 microbreweries in addition to succulent offerings from several regional BBQ vendors. Concert on the Green | Market Common | Thursday, August 20th

 

In the mood for a bit of live entertainment? If so, head to Valor Park at Market Common for the “Concert of the Green” event. This month, Market Common is featuring a Bon Jovi tribute band that is sure to be a hit! The band will play from 7pm – 10pm and guests are invited to bring a few chairs and settle in for a good time. Food and drink vendors will be available for anything guests might need during the performance.

  

South Carolina’s Largest Garage Sale | Myrtle Beach Convention Center | Saturday, August 22nd

 

Shoppers rejoice – head to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for one of the area’s biggest annual shopping events. The South Carolina Garage Sale will feature tons of vendors from across the state selling their best gently-used items. This event is a perfect way to stock up before the kids head back to school or for the savvy shoppers in the family. Summer Breeze Music Fest | La Belle Amie Vineyard | Saturday, August 29th

 

Lovers of live music and luscious wine will love this annual La Belle Amie event! Gather friends and family and head to the vineyard for an afternoon full of fun and entertainment. The Summer Breeze Music Festival will feature live beach-style entertainment, scrumptious food available for purchase via The Vineyard Grill, and samples of current seasonal wine offerings.
