September is already here – can you believe it? Summer is slowly winding down and fall is just around the corner. The great thing about fall – aside from the agreeable weather – is the jam packed local event schedule that takes place as soon as the beach traffic slows down.

Labor Day Weekend Events
Labor Day weekend is often touted as the “unofficial end to summer” and many families flock to the beach for one last hoorah before school starts. If you are heading to Myrtle Beach this year, be sure to check out some of the local Labor Day weekend events happening throughout the Grand Strand. From succulent culinary events to fun, family friendly festivals, you surely won’t be short on things to do during your long weekend.

The Piano Men | Brookgreen Gardens | September 8th – September 11th
Kick back and relax to the iconic tunes of “The Piano Men”, Elton John and Billy Joel, at this popular Brookgreen Gardens event. The four-day spectacle will include all of your favorite songs like “Tiny Dancer”, “Just The Way You Are”, “Candle In The Wind”, and many more. Dog Days Blues & Jazz Fest | La Belle Amie Vineyard | September 10th
Are you a lover of outdoor events, live music, and tasty beverages? If so, be sure to check out the Dog Days Blues & Jazz Festival at La Belle Amie Vineyard. This popular local winery will host live blues and jazz entertainment throughout the afternoon and will be offering complimentary vineyard tours. Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival | Huntington Beach State Park | September 23rd – 25th
Arts & Crafts fans and fanatics are sure to love the variety at the 40th Annual Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival. This event has gotten bigger and better every single year and this year is no exception! There will be over 100 local and regional artists present offerings up their finest crafts across multiple genres – paintings, sculptures, jewelry, glass and metal work, handmade clothing, and so much more. The festival will also feature live entertainment, children’s crafts, and tasty local food vendors throughout the weekend. The festival is scheduled to run from 12pm – 6pm on Friday, 10am – 6pm on Saturday, and 10am – 5pm on Sunday and admission in only $8 per day or $10 for a weekend pass. Brew at the Zoo | Brookgreen Gardens | September 24th
Get out and enjoy the fall weather at the annual Brookgreen Gardens Brew at the Zoo night. This fun festival will host 30 regional craft beer vendors and guests will have the opportunity to taste a few or try them all. Event guests can also enjoy live entertainment by Bullfrog and tasty snacks while they visit the various animal exhibits throughout the zoo. The event will also feature a silent auction that will benefit the gardens. Tickets are only $35 per person for members or $40 per person for the public and include a signature tasting glass. 12th Annual Irish Italian International Festival | Main Street North Myrtle Beach | September 24th
A seemingly unlikely combination, the Annual Irish Italian Festival has become a local favorite each year – and it’s not hard to figure out why! This tasty arts and food fest offers the finest Italian and Irish food around, in addition to tons of kid-friendly entertainment and adult-friendly beverages. Scheduled events include spaghetti eating content, street performers, live music stages, arts and crafts vendors, dance competitions, and much more. Where else can you eat homemade meatballs with a side of Guinness? This is a rain or shine event scheduled from 10am – 4pm along Main Street in North Myrtle Beach and admission is free to the public.
St. John’s Greek Festival | St. John’s Church | September 29th – October 2nd
Tasty homemade Greek treats, lively music, and handmade artisan crafts are just a few things that visitors and locals alike look forward to at the annual St. John’s Greek Festival. Guests can get their fill of just about any traditional Greek cuisine – moussaka, spanakopita, pastisio, dolmathakia, souvlaki, gyros, baklava, and so much more. The festival will also offer several local arts and crafts booths, live Greek entertainment and dancing, and a full kids area.
